Churchyard Restoration

Welcome to our Churchyard Restoration Page

As most of you will know, St Giles has a very old Churchyard

There are also several Commonwealth War Graves, for which we now have plaques at the entrance gates to indicate this fact.

St Giles is actively looking into the restoration of the Churchyard.

This is to make it a much better and safer place to visit loved one's who are buried or have their ashes scattered there , it is also to make it easier for anyone looking for the War Graves.

As one can imagine, the cost to carry out this restoration will be considerable and although we are looking into funding, we must first look to ourselves to get the fund raising ball rolling.

To this end our first fund raising event has already taken place.

The Scarecrow Wedding on 1st May 2017 in Church and in the Church Hall afterwards.

A good crowd attended the wedding and a good time was had by everyone.

With the help of all who attended we raised £599.76.

Our sincere thanks go out to everyone who donated or brought cakes etc. for giving, such a good start to our fund raising.

We would like to thank, Halesowen and Rowley Regis Rotary Club for their donation of £100

We would like to thank, Midcalf Nicholls Estate Agents for their donation of £250

We will update this page with future events as and when they are announced.

In the meantime should anyone wish to make a donation to the Churchyard Restoration Fund, please see the one of the church wardens.

Thank you from everyone at St Giles.
